Much of my beginning viewpoints of myself were impacted by the males in my life. I hate that I thought that they determined my worthiness, my acceptance. This piece explores my existence within those spaces while choosing to participate or not participate in societal gendered constructs. The embroidery referencing woman/child-like craft that depicts the physical marks that have been imposed on my body even by my own choice.
